A human head found in a Montreal park on Sunday belongs to a Chinese student allegedly killed by the so-called Canadian psycho, according to police.

Luka Magnotta, 29, last month denied killing Jun Lin, whose body parts were posted to political offices in Ottawa and schools in Vancouver.

The 33-year-old’s torso was found in Montreal, but his head was missing.

The head was discovered by police at Angrignon Park in south-west Montreal after a tip-off.

Police now believe that they have recovered all of Mr Lin’s remains, spokesman Robert St-Onge told the AFP news agency.

Lin’s family held a private memorial for him last week in Montreal.

Luka Magnotta was arrested in Germany last month.

He is thought to have posted a video of himself online defiling the corpse.

A preliminary hearing before his trial is expected to be held in March.
